Epifanes PP Varnish Extra
Epifanes PP Varnish Extra
PP Varnish Extra is a two-component flexible quick-drying, durable clearcoat that is used as a seal and construction layer on all types of wood. The varnish builds a lot with each coat and is fast-curing, PP Varnish Extra is thus very suitable for use on surfaces where you quickly want relatively thick layers on interiors and exteriors above the waterline. PP Varnish Extra is very resistant to chemicals, water spills and heavy mechanical wear. The varnish has very good adhesion to greasy woods, such as teak.
For both homogeneous wood, plywood, eg: floors, tables, stairs, masts, garden furniture, door sills, etc. PP Varnish Extra must be overcoated with at least three coats of Epifanes clearcoat (one component) or three coats of Epifanes Glossy polyurethane varnish (two-component) for external use for maximum UV protection.
The wood must be dry before the varnish is applied. The untreated wood must be cleaned and sanded with sandpaper no. 180-240. Remove all sanding dust with a vacuum cleaner and then spray thinner. Previously painted surfaces must be dry, cleaned degreased and matted with sandpaper P 360. Coverage: 2 liters covers approx. March 28
Mixture of components A and B: 1: 1 by volume. Be sure to mix the two components properly, but avoid "whipping" air into the paint. After the base and hardener are mixed, it is important that the varnish is allowed to stand and "rest" for about 15 minutes before application. Pot life: After mixing comp A and B: approx. 4 hours at 20º C. Drying time at 20 ° C and 65% relative humidity: Dust dry after 1 hour. Sandable after 24 hours. Epifanes PP Varnish Extra can be applied «wet in wet» with a brush, roller or sprayed with approx. 4-5 hour intervals. Sanding between coats is not a requirement if the next coat is applied within 48 hours. At higher or lower temperatures, the above times are extended or shortened. Recommended thinner: When applied with a brush, roller or spray: Epifanes thinner for PP Varnish Extra. If necessary, add thinner after the base and hardener are mixed, and have stood for 15 minutes. The amount of thinner to be added depends on the method of application, the temperature of the varnish and the surrounding conditions. Spraying: Thinning in vol%: 10-15. Nozzle: 1.3 - 1.5 mm. Air pressure (bar): 2-3
